A Living Will is a legal document, also known as an advance health care directive, that outlines how you want to be cared for if something unexpectedly impacts your health and, as a result, you end up receiving artificial life support with no hope of recovery.

A Living Will tells your family and your medical providers whether you want doctors to do everything they can to keep you alive or discontinuing that treatment and letting you pass away when the outlook is hopeless.

Even if you choose to discontinue treatment, Colorado law requires your medical providers to administer pain medication if they can tell that you are experiencing pain.
